Belief is a mental representation or expression of your personal opinion. It’s a way of navigating your way through this very complex world we live in. And it’s these beliefs that influence the way you may live your life. They can lead you to the choices you make, both in your personal and professional life.
How are these beliefs formed? Sometimes they are cultural or religious based. Some were instilled in you by your elders or acquired at a very early age. And then there are those beliefs you’ve created in your mind based on your own illusions or thoughts of how you think things should be.
Regardless of where your beliefs come from, they belong to you. Are you able to identify them? Do your beliefs control you, or do you control your beliefs?
Many beliefs may be bundled together, and you may not be able to change them until you begin breaking them apart. You can decide whether they are assumptions or facts. It’s all about how you define each belief.
By identifying and understanding the nature of your core beliefs, you can then facilitate change in your life’s pattern and choices.
You decide if your beliefs best serve your well-being or if they are holding you back from living the life you aspire to live. The key to dissecting and understanding is to rethink and go beyond your thoughts.
Know that any or all of these beliefs can be maintained, modified, or relinquished at any time. Through mindful practice, you can replace any existing belief that is not serving you well with new positive and empowering beliefs that will serve your well-being.
“Any belief that you give power to ~ has power over you.”
