We all experience pain in our lives, at one time or another. There are many different kinds of pain, and none of us are exempt from any of them. The pain I want to talk about today is emotional and personal pain. The kind of pain that hits you right in your heart, and leaves you feeling vulnerable and uncomfortable. Do you know the kind I’m talking about?? I think you do.
The good news is you can heal. When you hold feelings of anger or depression in, you tend to see the world through your own illusions. You become disconnected from what really is, and that’s when the pain sets in.
You have choices. You can stay where you are and suffer or you access your internal awareness and make a conscious choice to become courageous. It means seeking a better understanding of what the root of the problem is, and addressing it head on. Become comfortable with that awkward situation, knowing that it’s temporary, and knowing that you can find your way to bliss. It’s there, inside you and all you have to do is connect with it. Keep moving through the pain… sweat it out… let your mind, body and soul be conscious in the moment until you feel free. The most important kind of freedom is to be who you really are. The only choice is to choose courage. Choosing courage doesn’t mean that you aren’t afraid; it just means that you’re brave enough to face uncertainty, despite the fear. Only then can you start to heal.
Life is tough and not always fair; and yes, life can be harsh. Don’t be fooled into thinking that pain from tough times and heart aches are permanent. Each is a lesson for your soul. Don’t live hiding behind fear.. it only causes more pain.
I do believe that we all must experience pain to a degree to know what true happiness is.
