Our emotions are not just a simple matter of the heart. On the contrary ~ they are quite complex. Some people are very quick to show their emotions, the ones that are at the surface. Negative emotions may include ~ but not limited to:
- Anger
- Angst
- Annoyance
- Anguish
- Frustration
- Hatred
- Disgust
- Hostility
Here are some positive emotions, also readily available to surface ~ such as:
- Passion
- Pleasure
- Gratitude
- Happiness
- Surprise
- Joy
- Love
- Affection
Again, these are just a few emotions that are most often easy to surface. But are you able to access the emotions that are buried deep in your heart? Those can be somewhat challenging to reach:
- Grief
- Jealously
- Resentment
- Suffering
- Guilt
- Shyness
- Worry
Again ~ these are just a few emotions, to prompt you to “pause, think and reflect.” Do you hold any of these within?
Often, we carry emotions that are too painful to address; we suppress them and keep them buried deep within our hearts, which restricts them from surfacing. Sometimes pretending they don’t exist or hoping they will just disappear. Ah…..not so! They are there; they are real; and logged in your heart, only to fester and take over your soul. Only to restrict inner peace and stifle your true happiness, not to mention what this does to your physical health and well-being.
To heal from what you carry inside your heart, you must address these emotions and allow them to surface. It’s often very difficult and can be most painful. However, it’s the only way to heal.
It’s time address and recognize the emotions that you are holding on to, or the ones you’re denying exist. We do this by looking inward and developing resilience. Understanding this is going to be a process. Accepting what is, and knowing that we can change our existing situation; the “now”, so we can live a more balanced life forward. It’s time to see beyond these buried emotions, and really learn what’s beneath the surface, beneath your existing circumstances, and without judgment. It’s a time to just “be” and a time to “feel.” It’s the time to take control of your soul.
You may need the support of someone to help guide you through the process. It’s about making a conscious decision to no longer hide or suppress your emotions ~ a choice to acknowledge and release them; bringing you to a place where you can manage and take control; rather than allowing them to control you or being a slave to them. A place where love and light emerge.
Having good emotional health is as important as nourishing your physical body with healthy food. It’s all about balance for a healthy lifestyle. Mind ~ Body ~ Soul ~ and Spirit.
